The EASTERN BLUE-TONGUED LIZARD is a subspecies of large skink which is common throughout eastern Australia, often found in bhushland and siburan areas where conditions are suitable. the lizard is known as blue tongue because its tobgue can range from bright to dark blue,and it has a habit of displaying it prominently and hissingloudly when disturbed.
FEEDING AND DIET
Blue-tongueseat a wide variety of bhoy plants and animals.blue-tongues are not ver agile and the animals they eat are mostly slow-moving. their theet are large and they have strong jaw muscles so they can crush nail shells and beetles.
MATING AND REPRODUCTION
Blue-tongues live alonefr most of the yar, but between September andnovember males pursure females and mating occurs. at this time, males may fight aggressively among themselves. mating may be rough, whit females carrying scrape marks from the male`s teeth.
DANGER TO HUMANS AND FIRST AID
A bite from an adult blue-tongue can cause pain, break the skin and leave a bruise but there is no venom and long-term ill effect. However the bite site be cleaned whit a mild disinfectant, as whit anyanomal bite.
MY EXPERIENCE AT THE ZOO
The zoo was very fine.I really enjoy going to the buin zoo.My favorite part was the snack time because we played all around the zoo.
